The title: “Financial Peace” Sounds so comforting and relaxing to me. All of us have a financial life-whether it’s good or bad. We all (weather we admit it or not) want to have peace in our financial life. As mentioned consistently by Dave Ramsey, personal finance is more personal than finances. There are a lot of emotions (and some logic) fabricated when discussing personal finances.
It seems that most people manage their personal finances in the same way they handle everything else in their life. There are a lot of complications, confusion, neglect, indifference, even good intentions, and other emotions and feelings.
This book addresses many of the issues especially how finances affects our relationships (and how our relationships affect our money management). The principles may seem simplistic, as KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) – but they are crucial to be successful in your personal finances. The standard of simplicity (or KISS) is primarily a matter of dealing with cash and no credit. When we live in cash, then there is no concern about how much are the interest rates, finance charges, fees, etc. We have made our lives for the better by simplifying our finances. As Dave Ramsey we would not have to worship at the altar of the almighty FICO score. This also applies to credit co-signing. To co-sign a loan, which the cosigner is practically taking over the burden of paying the debt of another person. By keeping our personal finance simple, we are respecting the other person as much as ourselves.
Another key principle of the book discusses is the power of joy. Joy gives us the power to limit spending on things we do not need. You would be happy to have less things that you do not need, but to have more money. The book discusses this principle widely and clearly for you to succeed in your personal finances.
In addition, money affects our relationships. It is very important and crucial not to borrow from anyone (and especially) from your friends or family. It is more important not to borrow from that person. Due to the fact that money changes the whole dynamic of that relationship.
This is a great book to read and learn about personal finances. When applying the principles, you will accomplish the difficult reach of financial peace. Buy it here:
